Everyone has a sound, a voice that defines them. That sound is their identity; it tells of all theyʼve been through and where theyʼre going. Whether you hear pain and heartache, desperation or triumph, joy or sorrow, this voice is what causes others to listen. Well, pay attention! Because in the artistry of Just Jones, you will hear all of these things. Though only in his early twenties, there is a story he has to tell. He believes that music should speak for what life is, what is was and what it will yet be. All of these facets are found in the person of Jesus Christ and that is where the story begins.
Joseph “Just” Jones was born in Baltimore, Maryland and going to church is what was done since being in the womb. Growing up in a godly home, he was taught that Jesus was the right way. So, one Sunday morning at the tender age of five, along with some of his friends, he walked up to the altar to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. This is what began the journey that led to this moment.
Life began to happen-as it does for all of us-and there was a shift in his heart. He began to care less about obedience to the Lord and more about the appeal of the world. This led to a lot of personal destruction and where the Lord began to work on his heart. After the Lord allowed some very unfortunate incidents to take place, Just began to see the brevity of his own life. The Lord met Just in January of 2007 when He truly saved him as he cried out for mercy. From that point on, he has been living his life for the Lord. He is now married and has a son and a daughter. Just realizes like ALL Christians he is frail and needs the empowerment of the Spirit of God to work in him and to change him. He knows he is far from perfect, but is being PERFECTED (Phil. 1:6; 2:12) and thatʼs how he knows itʼs all UPHILL FROM HERE…
